I should also mention the possibility of a Maldon streamer (through the often overlooked Maldon Estuary in Essex) as a possibility for those  Londoner's on the North side of the Thames if the wind does shift slightly to an ENE'ly. It has produced in the past.

I feel your pain. I’m even further west in St Neots and it’s so frustrating to see all the reports coming in of heavy settling snow, when we’re just getting pointless light flakes blowing around in the wind.

Yep had that since sun morning

Absolutely!

Not helped by the lockdown so work is closed, meaning I don't have to be tired the next morning either!

A good day for snow lovers in the Maidstone area, in fact, more has come down today!

Been very cold all day, where even snow settling between bricks or on car doors has stayed put; normally those melt a few hours after.

Had a couple hours of moderate snow this evening with bigger flakes and have at long last reached 5cm (the threshold for that amber warning).

Everything is now properly covered, so I can now sign this off as a complete and successful snow event ❄✅

My sister in law lives near Maidstone and HATES snow - so she has a lot whilst I have barely any an hour away in Surrey - aarrgghh!!x

Whilst I am expecting a streamer to set up I'm not seeing anything remotely like Feb 09 in the works. This looks to me to be a low end to moderate event. What do I mean by that? Well I think it could well give S.Essex and N.Kent some good snows, that will likely extend towards SE London and maybe E.Surrey and Sussex.

I think there maybe a lack of energy for them to give too much beyond that point though I suspect there maybe some snow even to places further west, though amount of snow decreasing gradually.

I suppose what I'm saying is dont go to bed and expect to wake up to 6-9 inches tomorrow. Additional 6-9cms in favoured spots seems do able though.

Said the same thing to the wife

Just in from work, A13 and canvey way was bit hairy in places  hardly anyone on the roads its scary time night driving alone. Was relieved to pull up on my immaculate snow filled driveway.  Home to a nice beef stew and gnocchi (bet you can't say that without thinking of Gavin and Stacey) .

Was pleasantly surprised by the extra coverage we have tonight really thought that was it.

The last couple of radar runs seem to show a fair amount of convection building offshore to the East, anaprop/light ppn also building over London... It all bodes well for streamers to form through all the East facing estuaries. It could be a very interesting night ahead. h)Hopefully any streamers amanage to make inroads inland. We should get some ideas of convection soon(ish).

Hammering?! I can cope with snow reports across the region when it’s Essex or Suffolk but not when it’s one mile away!
