Seriously what is that about?

There has to be something causing them to stall around that location. I just have no idea what it is.

Why do easterlies never produce cold nights? I've had an ice day today only just maxing at -0.1c but has been stuck at -0.4c since about 3 o'clock, it doesn't seem to want to drop and it isn't exactly windy outside actually pretty calm.

Cloud cover from showers keeping the ‘heat’ in and wind direction from a warmish sea. You won’t find much difference between night and day. Until the skies clear and the heat is lost into the atmosphere

Easing off now.  Looking at the radar, might be back to dandruff for a while at least. Running it back (was bathing the kids), looks like we did pretty well out of that pulse here.

A good way to kick the night off - even if I don't see much more it's scratched the itch.

Let's hope some more of us get in on the action and somewhere gets a right caning before the night's out

That's the 3rd band that has stalled at around the same location in London since Sunday.

I seriously think we are seeing convection kicking in over the water.

It’s looking like a good night

Yep there is, but that one spot of anoprobe that's always there during cold convective weather, must be caused by something, but I've no idea what.

Is there a boy their, have that put a radar station there, unlikely. I don't think it's a wind farm. Not sure if there's any placforms in that part of the north sea.

Really pleased with the moderate to heavy snow that passed through with possibly some more continuing for a while looking at radar. Finally turned everything white with several cm. Hoping for those missing out that you all get to join the fun soon!

Goodnight all, be safe

Clear Skies overhead briefly and wow some temp drop.

All the energy get strangled out of that front sinking south and precip decaying now.

All eyes to the Estuary for the next 6 hours, will it or wont it

Just increased here, heavy powder snow currently, coming your way.

What's falling here is powder snow, but it's so windy, I'm just watching it blow down the street. Got to find the drift tomorrow.

Cambridge is and has been one of the worst inland City/town in the South of the UK. Its flat in in no mans land when it comes to snow!

In about the crapest place for fronts from the West and to far inland for showers from the East.

You need a NNE feed to produce heavy snow.

Last few radar grabs seem to be going for classic snow showers like what much of the north have had.
