Yeah ENE is the classic Thames Streamer direction. But it’s not that simple unfortunately lol

Have the heavier snow grains hit Southend yet? In shoebury we have blizzard conditions.

Okay then, I take it back, the NW  app thingy might be right -- it's snowing again... I might indeed wake up with an additional six-inches, tomorrow morn!

Hmmmm. Let’s see if old mother Thames can deliver the goods. Not getting that vibe to be honest, doesn’t feel right. But let’s see what the radar says next hour or two.

Yh I know what you mean, but would ring true with the sudden turn off just offshore on the showers, usually works this way, maybe there will be a drier slot and then things get rocking and rolling again. Maybe as I took my readings at 9pm there was an ENE Wind and its predominantly NNE. But the signs are good and the clouds are now racing more WSW than SW.

One to watch for sure, also North of Chelmsford that seems to be some sort of shrinking energy so is the stuff over us going to relax south over the next few hours to set the stage for some proper showers in the early hours.

Snow forecasting and things cropping up and chopping and changing is never easy

I’m at the bottom before it fizzles out and we have snow now (exactly as the radar shows) forecast shows us to have heavy snow overnight, so hopefully the greens are heading my way!

Yeah as you say this stuff sinking South is probably killing convection opportunities proper right now. Sooner it buggers off the better. Then perhaps we can have some real showers ??

Just very light snow here in Locksbottom. Will it won’t it?See snow in Barnehurst so only about 6/7 miles from me as crow flies but just doesn’t seem to have intensity to reach here. Will give it till 11pm and unless things change will think it may be a bust for the Orpington area-I knew as soon as bbc graphics were on board it would go Pete Tong!

Few light flakes in a very keen breeze at the top of the south downs here at around 550 ft asl. Was minus 3 when I left my house but far colder up here, perhaps minus 5! The wind chill is in another league up here and could easily be approaching minus 10!! Altitude gain =baltic!!

If that band makes it past Somerset I'd be mighty impressed and I reckon there is a high chance it doesn't even make it to Cornwall...

Think the models are having some issues with this block, ECM looks about right to me for this weekend.

Been snowing since about 530 this afternoon and still going. Sometimes fairly heavily. Pretty much covered the foot prints and areas I cleared this morning. I estimate a further 4cms has fallen in that time so got about 11cms now.

Temp got to -1.4 earlier, now -1.6.

Why do easterlies never produce cold nights? I've had an ice day today only just maxing at -0.1c but has been stuck at -0.4c since about 3 o'clock, it doesn't seem to want to drop and it isn't exactly windy outside actually pretty calm.

That's the 3rd band that has stalled at around the same location in London since Sunday.

Seriously what is that about?
