Just been for a decent walk around the estate with my eldest. Not another person or moving vehicle in sight. Eerily quiet with just the sound of the moderate sized snowflakes hitting the trees and bushes. Everything white again. Didn't want to go back indoors.

We had snow all day in Crawley. Out of nowhere. This cold spell is set to last until Friday at least. I would say it’s very possible anywhere will see more snow.

The radar is looking good for Brighton at the moment.. unless it grinds to a halt!

BBC has my location has tomorrow as heavy snow!?!...I take it not worth looking at? Southend a few miles away to the south as just cloudy.

The BBC even now is showing heavy snow showers for Kenley, Surrey for hours to come.  It simply isn't the case as the heavier snow is weakening very rapidly as it comes off the estuary.  Inland progress diminishes the snow to a few flakes in about ten miles.

Looks like a fail again. Everything since 530ish when those showers started streaming in has fizzled out long before here. Just stuck my head out of the window and there are plenty of clear spells with clouds just floating by. Sigh.

Cambridge is and has been one of the worst inland City/town in the South of the UK. Its flat in in no mans land when it comes to snow!

In about the crapest place for fronts from the West and to far inland for showers from the East.

We have had pretty much constant snow today with the radar showing nothing, now it's pepped up nothing falling from the sky, all very odd, I guess it's a case of lamppost watching!

We’ve done well this evening. Canterbury was empty to and we are now fully white everywhere. Radar looking excellent, seems to be just building constantly in the North Sea, not a whiteout, but moderate snow!

To the experts in here, are we expecting it to become more heavy/intense as the evening progresses? BBC has it snowing in Essex until 6/7AM so would be nice for it to become heavier, it’s all quite light and small flakes at the moment.

By the way, I'm sure this has been answered countless times, but what IS the strong radar signal just off Thanet's east coast which shows intense activity but sits there unmoving for hours at a time?

Finally upgraded from light blue to slightly less light blue on the radar and it's surprisingly heavy. I think because it's so dry the ratios are much better than normal so it's actually heavier than the radar makes it seems.

The car that I cleared off a couple of hours ago now has a covering again.

Not sure not bought my new weather station atm maybe this one has gone wrong as the other day it broke but I thought it had sorted itself out

Im just up the road from you and confirm a small rise in temperatures over the past 90 minutes..

Temp now -1.0C ( from -1.3C ) and DP -3.3C  ( from -4.5C ) so a milder layer now over us. The Snow that is falling is of a very wet type and causing some ground melt.

I would expect a lowering of temps again when precipitation clears.

The BBC are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!

Even better in the knowledge that it will be sticking around for the rest of the week

Yep with further chances over the next few days to add another covering! We certainly do well in these set ups in north/east Kent

Looks like this precipitation isn't going to reach my location in Sussex. Can anyone tell me when there will be a chance of my location seeing meaningful snow
