Few years back I had a pet cat (had a collar) turn up in a snow storm at night to my back door in Rainham. Let him in, gave him a tin of Tuna and a bowl of water.

It slept under my table cuddled up to the radiator.

Next morning when I came down it meowed, rubbed my legs and went off to find home.

Looks like it started going over Braintree in fairly good shape but lost intensity. I am blaming anyone from Braintree.

It’s based on a model which didn’t forecast anything near to extent of this so disregard.

Not sure, but the northern edge of it is getting sheared away, so its reducing in size and in intensity to some extent.

Latest BBC graphics for Wednesday look very streamer ish! Exciting. Also said the mild would fail to get in at the weekend.

Hasn't stopped snowing here now since 6am yesterday morning. Always light occasionally moderate. Had a few big flakes earlier, but always in between bands.   Total of 5" at a guess, large snowdrifts, and blocked roads everywhere, accept the main ones which have been cleared now. did pretty well in the end, so can't complain (that's a first ha! )

May be those miles between us, but I always feel we do well. Between 2009 and 2018 we had 4 or 5 events with 6+ inches of snow, which is pretty damn good for this part of the world.

Has been a struggle this time relatively, but everything is white and we have two inches laying plus drifts, so can't really complain.

Unfortunately those showers forming in the estuary are struggling to drive inland at the moment, but time for that to change.

Yes the FAX for Wednesday has a convergence zone right over our head, angling SW from the estuary over Kent and East Sussex.

My winter life in a radar. Pretty much given up with this one now, next to nothing on the ground, gutted it’s been such a miserable failure here. I’d have settled for 3-5cm!

Was light snow with big fluffy flakes but in the last two minutes turned to moderately heavy snow with big fluffy flakes! On its way to you @Paul Sherman

Hi peeps

hope everyone is well and safe. Was quite a snowy day in Walthamstow today, in fact I found today better than yesterday. The flakes were much bigger and at times there was some intensity, but mostly it was big moderate snow falling.

Hope to see some more snow in the next hour or so from that blob heading this way. The roads are actually quite dangerous outside now saw so many people slipping today.

This ppn intensity ain't cutting it, we need more yellow and orange echos rather than blues and greens.

Fizzled out as soon as it looks like hitting us.

The blob coming off Belgium has also started to loose ompf..

What will be will be I suppose.
