I've been out to Lidl, via the two-foot drifts, and discovered something: although none of the snow is anywhere near melting, BT's junction box thingy was covered with water, presumably being warmed from within (it's too late now for Solar radiation) which prompted another thought: is there part of the drainage system beneath your garden path?

If not, I'll just give up, and put it all down to nocturnal UFO activity!

Definitely no drainage system in the garden, in fact the grass is so compacted it was actually more like a bog when I went to the compost heap on Saturday which goes some way to explaining the wet stepping stones in the grass. The ground temps must have turned now though, as some of the previously wet patio areas are holding the few dandruffy flakes that do make it to the ground.

Good snow here, covering the tarmac quickly...the sky looked more convective when I took the dog out at 5pm. You could see the lower darker clouds and brighter upper clouds as per 2018, 1987 etc.

On there way to you next then Medway by the looks of the trajectory until the ENE swings them further west

Gravesend? Or is that a stretch too far west like usual lol

Radar looks very good for all of London come to daddy lol!

Hi Daniel on the home and dry chart this big band just fizzles out, are you hopeful that it keeps its intensity ?

I believe it's anaprop. A radio wave anomaly that pops up in that location regularly. No precipitation unfortunately

Thank you, something I've learned today

Dam that blob is slow.

I have a feeling it’s losing its intensity and may not make it to me here in N London sadly.?

Pop a bowl of warm water and some food outside: maybe a box with a blanket too if possible. If you can pop it somewhere safe but a little way away from you door/ window it may feel brave enough to come back.

I'll definitely give that a try

Not looking good on latest radar for areas from Herne Bay down to Canterbury etc, as it's starting to shift more west now in development. West kent still looking ok! But to be honest, the precipitation rates could be better

Snowing quite heavily here now, with some wind so expecting some drifts later. Covering up everything that was cleared earlier.

Radar isn’t picking all the precip seems to be some dead areas.

There’s more precip over the SE of Essex than the radar is picking up

Any thoughts on longevity of this North Sea snow machine tonight?

Likely to last the night,

Luckily got home earlier for the 5y.o to have some fun in the drifts

The radar has issues around there, I’d give it a chance...

If you’re using netweather radar anyway

Just had a feral cat crying for its life outside my house , it ran away before I could bring it inside, hope it's ok

Bless you!!!! I've a massive affinity for animals so I hope it returns asap and is well. Animals need our help, especially with such cold temperatures and wind chill. Prayers for all those animals and people suffering in this weather, and those affected by covid of course
