Just got home! Getting an absolute pasting!! If the streamer intensifies further, then who would rule out a bit of thundersnow!! That would be the icing on this wonderful cake.

Lynn looks like it's getting a pasting. Looks like it won't be stopping for some time yet either. Enjoy

I doubt it Kold.  Grass is better at holding a colder layer between the snow and the ground - reversed insulation if you like. I have an area in my garden with small tufts of grass in between soil. And the snow stuck to the top of these, but not the ground surrounding them.

clutching there. Snow here not on radar though, surely overnight we will all get some. Let alone the breakdown

Sorry wrong thread!

Possible Kent streamer tonight transitioning to Londons streamer tomorrow.

Shaded area: Highest risk of snow this evening and tonight, uncertain how much will accumulate, depends how intense we can get the showers/how prolonged they are.

Black line: This is the area at risk during tomorrow as winds become much more easterly. UKV has developing convergence zone later tomorrow afternoon>evening which could pep up showers, though current precip modelling isn't really showing this very well.

The temptation...

Will there be enough moisture gather for the London streamer given a due easterly flow?  The orange area pivoting north would suit me very well, BTW!

Interesting all these differences. I am not so far from @kold weather and my garden is not getting the powdery stuff settling on the grass but is on the soil. ( Just went out to pop some warm water in the bird bowls and took quick snaps).

Well im calling this the biggest let down and complete non event down here, weve had light snow all day and not one iota of it has settled.

If it snows and the temperature is zero, the dew point is well into the negative, the uppers are around mimus 10 and its STILL not settling then I might as well just give up hope of ever seeing snow falling and settling here.

Makes no sense at all.

Strange one that EML,just up the road in Saltdean the light snow has stuck well on all surfaces including the seafront.

How close to the centre of Brighton are you? Could the City be having a warming effect?
