6z Euro4 goes very slightly further South with the convergence zone - again remembering what we have already seen, assume that the extent of such a feature is undermodelled, so probably sprawling slightly further North and South than depicted here:

image.thumb.png.f57c9c3a791b1761fadebf1b233579f0.png

Looks to be in a line through approx Norwich - Cambridge - Milton Keynes

It will all ultimately come down to a radar watch I suspect, but that sort of zone currently modelled to get something in the region of an additional 5-20cms from what is already lying, perhaps more through that zone in southern Norfolk.

Thames streamer also modelled at times, but a bit more coming and going with that feature

You aren’t missing a thing. It’s been snowing here for 6 hours solid, if anything there’s less snow on the ground than this morning.

Better than here, the sun is out and stuck ten miles away from a streamer that is producing snow as far west as Cardiff. Made worse as the track is right in the dry slot shown on the Euro4 output this morning. All the snow on the ground has melted and temperatures are likely to get above freezing.

When we do we expect to see the convection start to fire in the SE?

Later this afternoon?

The convective activity is a bit of a failure down South still! Look at the beefy snow showers in Yorkshire!!

Huge sea track and stronger more direct E'ly winds up there.

I think for me with a little snow on ground and still reporting -2 a bit more will settle nicely but not as well as night time of course.

Crazy cold here close to Central London currently -1.4°C this could be the coldest day I’ve ever recorded. It’s been snowing most of day but lightly according to UKV potentially something beefy from estuary later this evening..

Just as Met Office forecasts really.

They specifically said yesterday that they don't expect heavy snow in SE on Monday.

Yes it is a little disappointing, it must be ground temps that are just that little bit too high to sustain the covering we did have on concrete at least.

Hopefully we can get something a bit heavier in again later and overnight to give us a decent covering that can help cool the ground temperature too. Praying that the convergence zone manages to edge south enough to affect us

it has been, but it nice to see something falling. However it's looking very green outside.

Huge band coming off the continent, should be here around 4/5

I'm also following that band.

It disappears of Radar but should pop up on ours in like you said 4 , 5 hrs.

BBC, Meto and Euro 4 all looking like 5pm onwards a build up of accumulations.

I would expect 10cm for some of us overnight, though it really will be the last gasp of this event.

Unlikely, as warnings are about to expire?

Amber expires in 3 minutes, we are still under a yellow, and bear in mind a lot of us under amber have seen very little from this. I wouldn't pay too much heed to the colour of the warning.

I think its light snow here still, but hard to tell if its falling from the sky, or being whipped up from the roofs and the ground, either way its still accumulating.
