Bit late, a lot of cloud overnight with bands of snow showers, from about 0100-0400 then dry, 1 cm lying snow and a low of -0.6 C. Since then sunny at times, especially now and radar shows large gap to next showers, a mix of light and moderate snow showers but thawing in the sun.

A very cold day with light and the odd moderate snow shower but nothing warranting any warnings at all. Despite temperatures being below freezing a slow thaw set in during the morning which the showers just failed to keep pace with. Dry with sunny spells this afternoon until now when another light snow shower has arrived. The melted snow from earlier is now turnign to sheet ice so tricky underfoot and shortened my evening walk not wishing to fall and end up in hospital.

Max temp 0.5C now -0.4C, Barometer 1006mb rising, Wind F3 NE, rainfall since midnight 0.6mm

Cloudy and bitterly cold with light snow blowing in the wind all day but not enough to settle on tarmac. Not the coldest day we've ever had but feeling particularly bitter with the wind chill. Maximum 0.2, minimum -1.3. Wind moderate NE.
