Great snowfall earlier this morning. Was at work at the time but it came down really heavy with huge 50p sized flakes at one point. Which was crazy to see so far into April. It didn't settle though which was a bit disappointing. It could well have done had it been dark I think. There was a very slight settling early this morning though which amounted to the odd small patch of accumulated snow on the grass and rooftops but it was much lighter snow then so was struggling really and was obviously too warm by the time the proper stuff hit. Can't be too disappointed  though considering the time of year.

A few light flurries here in N Worcs today, one around breakfast time and a couple more in early afternoon. Nothing particularly impressive and didn't come close to settling, but I think the afternoon ones still caught out a few people who'd come down to the river for a walk and a coffee!

It’s because to have temperatures that high in winter requires higher temperatures at upper levels. The strong solar radiation this time of year brings those higher temperatures near the surface whilst it’s very cold not far above us.

I can confirm  that it did fall a snow around here...  (I saw it through the curtains when the wife woke me up!)

But hardly enough to dampen the ground.

Lovely and sunny here now though.

MIA

Yep, was confirmed by my Mum that it had snowed a bit. Little bit gutted really to miss it, but not the end of the world.

Had a few odd light to moderate graupel/snow showers throughout the day, similar to others on here. Last shower that had gone through produced a bit of actual back edge wet snowflakes. Which was nice to see, even though that part of the shower lasted for about a minute lol

Tomorrow morning maybe the last hurrah for something wintry before next Winter? Unless I guess another potent Arctic blast steals the show later into the month  To be honest, asides from tomorrow’s possible rain, sleet and snow, don’t mind if it just started warming up now.

We've had it all today, snow this morning which settled, then bright sun and it felt actually nicely warm in it and then tonight graupel and hail showers some of which have been heavy.

I can safely say that maybe your/our lot, it’s pretty much on the cards now that anything that was showing this morning for snow tomorrow morning won’t be happening, some models have it slipping way south as it makes its way through Wales and some have it fizzling out altogether.

Good call....it’s been a blast ❄️❄️❄️

Maybe they smelt the landfill site at Silverdale and they'vemade a detour. It reeks something terrible tonight.
