A cloudy morning here so far with a few showers pushing into my local area now. Currently light rain and temp 23c and feeling humid.

Story of the summer or even year cloud just refuses to eff off for just 1 day. The dullest year I can remember and it's happened in the 1 year we could have done without.

A few light showers here earlier, just enough to persuade Mrs T.M to get all the washing in and then it stopped. Very warm and humid with sunny intervals since midday.

Was some mist and a little low cloud, but it's cleared very quickly and it's a glorious morning now.

The minimum of 15.5c last night made it the equal second warmest September night on record here ( since 1977 ) It could be one of the warmest September days on record too the way things are going.

27.1c today was the highest September max' since I began keeping records locally in 1963.  The previous highest was 26.5c on the 13th in 2016 and prior to that it was 24.7c on the 21st in 2006.

Who would of thought a week ago in my back yard, this week I would be having 30c....not me for sure ....30.4c it was to be precise.

Last week most of it was a cloud fest and some days it didn’t get above 14c -15c

And then a week later we’ve doubled the day time temperatures and with crystal clear blue skies.....lovely if you ask me

Spent today wandering around Ludlow. Absolutely gorgeous weather throughout, clear blue skies and very warm sunshine. I was grateful of an ice cream, though! Back here in Bewdley it topped out at 28.2 °C, my highest max since 22nd July! It's only dropped below 20 °C in the last few minutes. A true midsummer's day feel in September, not unprecedented but certainly not common!

I've had a look back through local records which began well before mine and in this area yesterday was the hottest September day since 1919. All the more remarkable in that it didn't require any lengthy build up to achieve it, just a couple of anticyclonic days with a southerly flow.

Seems to be a very limited area getting any thundery activity so far. Don't know if it's one of those nights when things may kick off later, but that band of rain moving North has nothing except on it's South Eastern flank, so chances look slim.

I was round B’ham airport at 1pm, I was driving at the time seeing surface flash flooding, it’s amazing sometimes what can come down in just 5 or 10 mins.

One I’m watching atm on the radar is a band ( see my snap shot )

Lets see how this develops, as it moves North

My hopes failed, that band just faded and broke up,

Regarding lightning strikes on the radar atm is all up North

Oh yes!  sorry I remember you now, let’s hope of a repeat but more wide spread,  as I know at times East of Birmingham it wasn’t so good.

We’ll be there again for sure with our hopes of a cold snowy Winter

Strange day. Started dull & drizzly, but brightened up with plenty of sunshine and consequently much warmer than the 17C advertised. Not at all as forecast, but I'm not complaining!
