Well breakdown day is turning out to be a much better day than last day of summer yesterday. 21C, sunny spells and no sign of that intense band of rain that was showing on all the forecasts yesterday.

Tuesdee we're getting it, going to be bad

Yeah right, like many of us was going to have a good old soaking over this weekend, And what was the outcome *most of us haven’t seen a single drop*....so regarding Tuesday, I’ll see it when I believe it.

Tomorrow ain’t bad though *sunny intervals and light winds 26c*

Horrible, overcast, grey, dull, humid. are just a few words to describe today's weather not one rumble, not one drop of rain

Yes, direct hit on Lower Penn, had 9mm of rain in 15 mins, quite a few flashes of lightning as well. Back lawn has puddles all over it.

Looks like it's fired up again over Walsall...although the radar showed it weakening on the last frame. The next frame might show it's built up again. They've been ebbing and flowing like that all evening.

Like others have said a direct hit here in Walsall, seen around a dozen flashes and a decent amount of thunder, and some torrential rail, saw a couple of small hail stones too. The petrichor is lovely.

I think it might be over now but that was a fairly good thunderstorm here. Not quite as epic as some of those we had last year but certainly not a bad effort for a year that's been really lacking in thunderstorm activity until now. Hoping for more soon.

Despite what has looked like a fairly lively radar this afternoon, been barely more than a drop of rain here today. Pretty underwhelming given what is seemingly out there. Been very overcast much of the day.

EDIT: just had a short and sharp shower now. Good to see some rain again here!

Just had the best thunderstorm for a few years here, even some hail thrown in for good measure.

There were strikes to the North East south and West you couldn't make it up.

I cant even get out to chase as I have been very poorly with Covid so it is very frustrating to say the least.

Damp and dreary day here now, no light shows or convective activity really, just continual moderate rain and nimbostratus YUK hoping it'll brighten up in a short while and trigger some t'storms over the west mids but not entirely convinced.

Another thunderstorm over Stoke a short time ago. This one dumped quite a lot of hail ⛈

That one has just reached here. We haven't had any hail in July since 2014 and today it's hailed twice. Just small hail in the first storm but the one just passed gave some 5-7 mm stones.
