There is a few heading our way! at least some flurries

There's one decent sized one - albeit on radar - just to the north of Burton.

Personally I'm keeping an eye on the one that's forming near to Matlock, I'm assuming @MattStoke will be too  It's got our name on it as long as it keeps building and makes it past Leek/Cheddleton.

Agree here, i kinda feel like im done with winter now. Weve done pretty well by west mids standards this winter, i make it 9 full days of snow cover here, about 18-20cm of accumulating snow but todays accumulation always felt like it was going to melt fairly rapidly. Im not entirely sure why thats been the case, but it seems to have happened fairly widely from what ive read away from higher ground? The ground must ultimately be too warm to retain the snow, but anyway, the same will most likely happen if any more is to accumulate during this easterly spell, so a double figures temp would actually be kinda welcome here, as the nights get a little longer too, means more comfortable outdoor opportunities (within covid regs) as i just feel downright grumpy when it snows but its not amounting to anything .

I agree, I’m about done now, let’s have some spring warmth, unless we can get a decent northerly and something worthy from the Cheshire gap of course

What a really frustrating spell for most of us this has been. I knew the streamers would deliver next to zero for most of us away from the favoured eastern areas, but a snowy breakdown/slider should really have been on the table. If not more than that.

Still hopefully more opportunities to arise in the coming 6 weeks.

Its February the 9th, nobody should be thinking about Spring!

In a normal winter I'd probably agree with that and be hoping for one more wintry blast, since we've done reasonably well out of March in the last decade or so. I haven't suddenly stopped enjoying snow by any means! But this is not exactly a normal winter. Since I currently WFH, the only time I leave the house at the moment is for my daily exercise walk, and I'd like to feel some spring warmth, enjoy the daffodils (just starting to bud here) and so on. If we got a real taste of late winter, say 5 cm of snow or more, I might change my mind. But the current spell isn't really doing it for me now.

Nothing here. I’m watching all those really heavy showers drifting down from the north east and all tracking to just a few miles south of me. I’d have seen a really good event here if the wind had just slightly more of an easterly element to it.
