Ironically just as I'm about to give up on this, the BBC app updates to show heavy snow showers most of today and tomorrow!  Don't see happening!

Best to ignore those and just glance at the radar & look out the window.

Showers still falling apart as they travel past Leicester, us there any reason beyond plain hope casting, to suggest this may change at any stage today or tonight?

BBC keep showing lines of intense snow showers going all the way across the country, but they've already been proven wrong once, don't see why this would change tonight.

Some more knowledgable members than me talking about the fax charts and convergences might help the showers. I have no idea other than watching the radar. All feels a little anti climatic at the moment

Flurries but the showers keep dying before they arrive here which is frustrating. Just wanted a base layer that'll be around for the week!

Temperature just crept above zero here now, at only 10am

I think today can be written off now

Thanks, yes think that will be key if here in the central & west of the region we’re to get much more than a thin covering. The east of the region is looking much better, so no such worries for them!

As you said earlier matt, its basically evaporating on the ground more than anything, very meh this, almost feel like writing it off as any snow that is falling is wiping away the dusting we had overnight.

Heavier stuff all seems to be a bit too far north. Might align better later in the day.

Light snow here at the moment.

After small snow grains over the last hour, intensity has picked up and flakes much larger. This is looking more promising!! Looks like there is plenty more to come off the coast for the rest of the day too. Hopefully many more areas will see the action - I don't want to be greedy

To be fair, there's a line of (mostly grauple) showers running across the country from Rugby, through Stratford, Evesham and now into the Forest of Dean, exactly as forecasts predicted.    Just a matter of whether you are lucky enough to be under one

Thing is the sun is melting it rapidly - nearly all of it has melted here.

we seem to have grown a snow shield:

See how that gap has got bigger!

Looking ahead, arpege and EURO4 poles apart as far as I can see.  Arpege showing more showers developing later

Just had our first heavier shower which has left a sugar coated cover, hopefully more to come as seem to be just about in the firing line at the moment. The shower we just had did show they can still have some significant intensity this far West which is good news for all.

Pleasantly surprised how well we’ve done judging by everywhere around us!

Must be a random bubble forming over me

At this rate might be able to make a snowball at midday. Any settling snow is drifting. Been snowing all morning but apart from a thin covering its nothing much.
