This lot seems to be shifting quite far west, will it make it to the Midlands?

Is that the 'predicted' radar? I wouldn't trust that. That mass of snow is heading Westwards but I don't think it will get past Cambridge on its Western flank.

Looks like the showers are continually dying on their ass just a few miles to my east but it is an snowing enough to put down an extremely thin dusting.

PPN definitely weakening as it approaches the West Midlands. Flurries at best.

Same, considering it's basically been snowing for about 2 hours here now there's barely anything on the ground.  Oh well, hopefully it'll pick up and there'll be a nice covering by the morning.

Still zero here despite being shown under precip the whole time.

jumping the radar forwards now just shows a broken up mess. Met office downgrades showing now too. Gone from 18 hours of heavy snow here, to between 30-50% light snow.

I’m going to bed

Let's see what happens. I don't think that band is supposed to get as far West as the Midlands, but you never know.

Super Bowl over so off to bed, these showers are dying on there weeble over here now? Looked more promising at midnight than it does now. I will eat my hat if we get loads of showers out of this, something is killing the convection, prob that mass of snow over EA

Up to more of a proper dusting now.

Showers across the North Midlands seem to be smaller than those further north

Amber warning covers parts of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, which I said were my pick for the sweet spots.

Stops just east of Stoke-on-Trent

Just been to the loo and yes, icing sugar here too. Guess I am not quite in that sweet amber spot despite being up on the Wolds. I am literally a mile or 2 away from the Amber warning.

Edited by Storme
Edited to check how close I am to the amber warning.

must admit one of the reasons I hate easterly winds here because it doesn’t deliver anything apart from being bitterly cold except a few occasions 2018 was one of those.

Where I used to live, in Surrey, the easterlies were the only one's to bring decent snow. Except 2018 when we actually got virtually nothing. Right I am back off to sleep now.
