looking at this, there appears to be a large area of snow coming in from a front , probably early morning onwards, that should bump the precipitation levels up (fingers crossed!!)

Waar in Europa gaat het regenen? De Europese buienradar toont het je

That looks more like an extension of the front that affected the Southeast today? I think that will move South and showers that haven't formed yet will start to form just off the East coast later tonight then come inland.

Here's is what appears to be going on off in the North Sea to the east.

You have a large low pressure out to the south, and this is swinging bands of cloud and precipitation around it.

The direction the cloud is travelling in in 'blue' and the way the cloud should move later tonight and in to tomorrow, in 'red'.

you can see there's a lot of precipitation out there and the wind should be strong enough to get it hear later tonight

This is the closest precipitation has got to me today without suddenly vanishing off the radar.

To be fair if you're going to miss out on a snow event this week, today is the best day to do it.

Looking at the animation on meteosat website, that blob is moving northwards and is getting sheared westwards and ripped apart at the same time.  It's the lighter grey cloud layer that's moving eastwards that's bringing the snow.

If it makes you feel any better, here has been under light precipitation on and off all day- but we’ve had nothing.

Tiny flakes becoming that little bit more consistent. Hopefully looks like things are beginning to get more organised on the East coast.

Gutted the floodlight in the garden broke during this lockdown, would be so useful tonight lol.

Absolute snooze fest waiting for any PPN to reach here was getting my hopes up after that activity around The Wash earlier now, it's dying out.

Light snow now in Hinckley, nothing spectacular but most it's done today and according the to radar nothing over us. How reliable are these radars? For shower situations

It'll be the light snow just over Leicester on the radar. The strong east wind blowing it westwards.

Best to wait till morning, won't be able to see fine granules in lamp light as they'll be so small and virtually invisible.
