A well deserved victory for the Scots at Twickenham. Last time that happened was 38 years ago !
England poor I thought, so many penalties conceded.
    England 6  -  Scotland 11

Congratulations to Scotland, but what an awful performance by England.  I honestly couldn't work out what their plan was - they seemed to kick possession away randomly and usually straight to the opposition back three.

    Wales 21 - Ireland 16

Wales took advantage of Peter O'Mahony's 14th-minute red card to beat Ireland in their Six Nations opener.

Flanker O'Mahony became the first Irishman to be sent off in the Six Nations.

Ireland bounced back to lead 13-6 at half-time through a Tadhg Beirne try and Johnny Sexton's boot.

Tries from George North and Louis Rees-Zammit and 11 points from Leigh Halfpenny sealed success for Wales.

But they nearly lost it at the death, with a penalty giving Billy Burns the chance to kick for the corner and a potential match-winning line-out drive, only for the replacement Ireland fly-half to kick the ball dead, to Wales' huge relief.

England improved today, running in 6 tries against the Italians at Twickenham
    Eng 41 -- Italy 18
Sorry for young Jack Willis, scored a super try within minutes of his debut and then
almost immediately needed to be stretchered off with a nasty knee injury.

And a good, close game at Murrayfield,
    Scotland 24 -- Wales 25
Perhaps a key turning point was Scotland's Zander Fagerson being red carded on 53 mins.

    Wales beat England 40 - 24
A couple of debateable decisions by the ref perhaps .. but way too
many penalties conceded by the English.
    Wales deserved winners.

    Italy 10 - Ireland 48

Ireland ran in six tries to claim their first win of this year's Six Nations in a one-sided contest against a poor Italy in Rome.
