Just a smattering of snow here. Not what I'd call a cover though. Just bits and pieces scattered about where the winds blown it.... hopefully things improve later on with something more significant.

Yep think you're right mate, looks SW'y direction. Feared that might be the case...

Pennines doing their job. The odd flake falling every now and then. Can see how white they are in the distance. A complete bore fest for the majority. It isn’t even that cold!

Interesting to look at the gaps where the showers are coming across the hills. Plenty sedbergh and Kendal area, then there's a few making it through between Blackburn/Leyland area then more organised to the east of Manchester. Gap to the N of Preston up to say Lancaster at the moment. Ties in with the higher elevations to the east perhaps ?

Going as I expected it this.. Craply.. Showers just dying in intensity thanks to the pennines leaving just scraps.. That's for here anyway.... My attention is on Fri sat.

Just gone a lot darker here and the snow is starting to come down with a bit more intensity, less windy as well. Hopefully this might be the start of more prolonged and organised showers......................

I think some people need to chill, the fact this moderate intensity precip can get across the himalayas of Northern England and be snizzle this side surely means that should any seriously heavy showers form in York they should be moderate intensity when they get here.

Been snowing on and off here all day so far. Too light for accumulations though.

Out at work, thankfully nothing too disruptive here to cause any issues on the roads (that can hold off until later)... but small flakes, ice pellets, polystyrene micro balls, bits of hail all been in the mix today but nothing of real intensity here.
