Liverpool Airport at 12C whilst Manchester is currently 17. Biggest temperature delta I've seen where it's Liverpool with the inferior temp. I assume Manchester will follow on with it's cool regime later today. XCWeather shows this well

I was aware of the wind and rain earlier and some pot plants have got knocked over, but nothing more. Torrential rain is now more of a problem and some serious flooding for drivers to negotiate in the dip near our local petrol station (closed since Friday). It must be Monday! 😬

Yikes. Haven’t checked the weather forecasts or charts really for a little while. Woke up, saw the sun, threw my shorts on and went to the shop for milk. Safe to say I wasn’t expecting it to feel that cold😂

A welcome turn to colder weather now. The quicker it turns, the quicker we can get the 2021/22 disappointment of a winter out of the way and look forward to the reemergence of the 2022 disappointment summer!

What has happened to our seasons, they’re all well and truly goosed.

This morning was the first time in a while that i've been woken-up by the rain lashing against the windowpane at around 6am. Last night I was on a drive over Long Hill to Buxton and it was quite gusty over the Goyt tops with leaves & small twigs being shed off the tree's, now I can say it feels like Autumn has arrived especially after Saturday's high humidity despite the drizzle and yesterday's brief blue skies.

A cold front with business.. kicked away the dank humidity of the weekend. Awoke to heavy rain and much fresher. Current temp 14.3 degrees, much more how you expect a late September day to be.

Finally some interesting weather today. It has been boring to say least for weeks. This Atlantic air is noticeably cleaner too.

Residents report vehicles being flipped, flying bins and a garage roof being ripped off.

The most i got was a pallet falling over that i'd put against the trampoline.

Just outside of reliable so will likely change but this would bring damaging gusts, trees uprooted, fences ripped out and the rest. Just when we've not had proper storms for ages we could get thrown into the deep end.

The rain cleared through here by around 9 this morning and it turned into a largely sunny day from there on with just an occasional shower. Noticeably fresher out and very breezy. Certainly the prospect of some interesting weather on the horizon. Those charts above for the weekend look vicious with the isobars packed in very tightly.

That looks like the strongest winds are right across our region although fortunately I’m heading south for a few days holiday the day before, petrol permitting of course😂

Looks further south, the eye of the storm passes over the region.

Id go to the opticians first, otherwise you might not find the petrol station.

Been easy to find the ones between home and work today, most were surrounded by hazard tape with the others at the far end of a long queue of standing traffic.

fortunately I filled mine up the day before the media spotted a single closed garage and smelled a story.

Prob be gone on the next run anyway or shunted north a bit giving us the worst of it. Not really worth examining over the fine details at this stage though. A lot of "could, might or maybe's".

Was planning a fishing trip next Sunday. Wont bother taking the brolly, it might end up in the North sea.

The calm before the storm? Spots of rain but the main rain band has not yet moved in. A wet day ahead it seems.

We do need the water tables to rise and also the reservoirs given the drier than usual period that the North has found itself in. Obviously in moderation otherwise Hebden Bridge and Todmorden for example,  will be in the news again.
