Absolutely chucking it down now. Making up for all the dry weather! Sadly, nothing electrical.

Haha, yeah! Spain were lucky there, wasted so many chances towards the end.

I swear S Cheshire is a heavy shower magnet for anything other than winter snow!  Pouring with torrential rain ?? here when it was forecast to be a dry Friday evening.

...... and just as quickly, the setting sun has come out from behind the dark clouds! Definitely a tale of showers which I think we shall continue to see over the weekend. S Cheshire seems to be just to the west of the BBC weather warning area but I wouldn't rule out continuing heavy showers and even some thunder and lightning in the next couple of days.

Should just squeeze a bit of drizzle out of the heavy shower affecting southern parts of the region at the moment.  More opportunity for some heavy stuff as we go through the weekend.

Just starting to rain here, hint of petrichor in the air, and a bit of an increase in the breeze.  Back to the football.

Just putting something in the bin and it's starting to rain here. We do need it though just not every day!

What a cracking match, what a fantastic week of football.  Heartbroken for Spinazzola, reminded me a bit of Toto Schilacci, 1990 FIFA worl cup, remember him?  Raining quite steady now.

Well, tonight we wave goodbye to continental air and say hello to our good old friend the Atlantic.

Indeed we do. It’s been very dry for the last four weeks now. But our old friend the Atlantic will soon fix that...

Yes, a complete change from the predominantly settled, dry conditions we have enjoyed lately. Hopefully we can squeeze out some thundery showers/storms during the transition over the next couple of days. A damp, murky start to the day here. Hopefully, the rain will clear through quickly and we can get some decent heating to allow some decent convective activity later.

Yes, a damp start here as expected.  According to sat 24, some cloud heights are only reaching 8km at the moment for our region, so as you said some decent heating will increase the chance of some thunder. Be a perfect day that, a thunderstorm and tonights football result going the right way too. Jobs a good 'un.

As long as the storm intensity doesn't take the satellite signal out or the power for that matter.

The first of the damp drizzly stuff has reached here, just in time to stop me using any electrical stuff in the garden.

I knew I should have bought battery powered hedge trimmers

hopefully it’s a short lived affair though as much as I like football, I can’t stand the thought of sitting through thirteen hours of build up to the game and need to get outside.

It's been quite a while since we last had thunder and lightning. Sods law is we'll get something that hits at around 20:00!

I reckon anyone sat outside watching the game tonight will need a good dose of Glastonbury spirit, or some decent wet weather gear.

At least we are spoiled with many back up options these days - multiple platforms, ability to pause live TV etc. We even have mobile internet if the worst comes to the worst and the power goes.  Just need to ensure devices are fully charged up. Weren't like this when I were a lad!

I'll find absolutely anything...anything to do rather than sit through hours of TV build up. I'm sure those curtains could do with a wash
