Been out for a nosey at how the fire service are getting on up Marsden moor.
They are still tackling the fire and it has burnt a fair area, what a waste of man hours caused by some moron or morons.

There's a few showers developing now around the Marsden area according to the radar so hopefully the firefighters will get a helping hand from nature, but they are hit and miss.

Slowly but surely the showers are moving south and dark skies beckon to the north and east.  Might get a shower here in the next hour or two.  Although right now it's blazing sunshine.

Luckily the heaviest bursts seemed to coincide with the burn area. What a shame it couldn’t come sooner

Very little rain over much of the day but it’s certainly pepped up over the last hour or so.

not enough to make much difference to the parched conditions but as others have said, hopefully it will help with the fires still burning.

Quite an appreciable depository of rain here in the last hour or so...heavy over the saddleworth hills no doubt.  I expect the garden will burst forth with greenery tomorrow responding to a long awaited watering.

Yes the land had a good drink this evening. Must have been like that refreshing feeling we feel on a hot day and you drink a can of ice cold beer after feeling a bit dehydrated.

A chilly feel to things today. Certainly doesn't feel like almost May. Not much an improvement going forward either. The GFS right at the end of it's the run showing high pressure riding over us from the Azores and in mid may that usually means very warm weather but this is in la la land. Will likely change from run to run. As far now the below average April looks like continuing into May.

We were losing and I had to go upstairs as my wife wanted to tell me about tomorrows docs appointment.  I came back down and couldn't believe my ears.

Trying to do more work on the shed and it keeps threatening to rain. Not a problem if im inside but alas, i'm replacing cladding which leaves it open to the elements.
