Best of both worlds, and you had a bonus snow event in Athens to boot.  Nice to have you back in the UK.

Thank you Rush! Yes, the Athens snowfall was something else.

Morning All.

A cold graupely view greeted me this morning . That late intense shower yesterday evening had not melted and if anything looks to have been added to.

Another air frost this morning.. lost count how many we've had this month so far..  another fine day ahead.. turning into a much colder version of last April..

-2'c overnight with a evident ground frost although the clear skies at 5am soon gave way to overcast and foggy skies, hoping for a good clear spell this afternoon to have a wander-around what's left of the snowfields around the Kinder/Bleaklow area.

It was a nice day to be out and about in the Peaks despite the chill in the air and overcast skies earlier on this morning. Oddly enough its parts of the White Peak where most of the past few day's worth of snow has survived the thaw, and there's now barely anything up around Kinder or Bleaklow where it's been exposed to the sun despite the elevation.

A lovely sunny day and nearly all of my snow has gone, hopefully until next winter

amazing to think that less than 48 hours ago we had nothing then 6 hours later it was 10 inches deep, then it disappears pretty much as quickly as it came.

April is definitely the most interesting month of the year weather wise.

Lovely walk around manor park feeding the ducks... eventhough a few layers on felt nice in sunshine... quick pop to doctors for blood test then the shops to get ingredients to make seafood chowder with cheesy sourdough

I saw the CET is currently 5.7C which makes it colder than April 1989 (not rolling average)... but with temperatures in the day forecast 2-3C below average, even in the next week at least, and night time temperatures easily 4-5C below average, we could well see this years April CET competing with that of 1989. It does make me wonder, April 1701 must have been literally like January with a CET of  4.7C. Looking at the records, we're not going to be all that far away from the record coolest in sets like minimum mean, maximum mean, etc etc.

Max of 9 degrees, min of -3 degrees, returning a mean of 3 degrees! Very cold for April, and we've had a run of similar means for about 8 days now, sometimes lower.. colder than many a week in winter!

Lovely start again. The field at the back was white with frost but the sun has zapped it and temps are on the rise.

-5.7C here was the low. A bit of an easterly influence in the next few days but it's April now. If it was January we'd be looking at max's close to zero. The sun is just too strong now and overpowers the cold continental air.
