That's just an automated forecast with no human intervention. Best to stick to the text forecast, which was actually pretty accurate for today.

Yea true, I was never expecting to see any snow but they need to sort out their automated forecasts though as they are all over the place.

Started snowing again here. Fairly light but there does seem to be a slight dusting on the bins so it must’ve been going for a few minutes. A few big flakes mixed in suggesting it is becoming marginal aloft.

It's just based on raw model output, which is the issue. To be honest, I think it would be better if they just scrapped issuing the automated outputs because they chop and change regularly and people always seem to take them as gospel.

Maybe these radar returns are more accurate? Would seem that way going from reports.

Any reports from Chester way?

Well after yet another letdown in a winter of letdowns, just glad the superclarets turned in a good performance to brighten my day up.

never mind tomorrow we have either freezing rain or fain falling onto frozen ground to look forward to.....can’t wait.

Heaviest snow of the day just went through got lighter again now but has left a slight dusting. About as much as we got on Monday from the heavier North sea showers.

Reinvigoratation as milder air is taking hold above. This may well turn to freezing rain, but for now, it’s snowing nicely.

I would be surprised if it’s freezing rain yet because there is such a deep layer of surface cold above. Ice pellets yes.

Still light snow here with moderate bursts at times. Want  this to continue as long as possible so DP can start rising more and more precip can get to the ground.

That was a quick regeneration of snowy precip on the radar around the Chester area - but it will still hit a brick wall by the time it reaches here.

I know the met have an ice warning out tomorrow, but the chances of freezing rain must be quite high with the ground frozen solid.  It's not going to be like what you see in the US with everything caked in Ice but it could be lethal where it lies.
