Had an almighty downpour earlier as Dodge nearby describes, biblical actually.

First snow of the Autumn at the Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi, Finland. ☃️❄️?️

Hope its negative. Unfortunately, the vaccine is not a barrier to contracting the virus and the various strains. My wife works in community and her colleagues are currently off with it.  For some, they've  had Covid for the second time and they've been either double or triple jabbed and had the flu vaccine too. Some have required hospital assistance.

Thanks. My Mrs has recently started a new job in a school and people are dropping like flies, some jabbed, some not. This is going to go on for years I reckon.

This supercell on the radar here gave a likely Tornado around Widnes at lunchtime. Lots of footage of destruction on social media!

Skies cleared earlier bringing temps down, a chilly feeling 6°C here, there's  that strong smoky/bonfire smell of Autumn in the air.  Atmospheric pic of tonights Hunters Moon through the trees.

Looks like it. The Widnes cell passed over my area just before 1pm. My timelapse shows some very interesting at that time posted in the storm thread, not sure what it is

A bit moist around here today but nothing like the deluge they’re having in Weatherfield at the moment.

looks like there may be some casualties although no doubt it’ll all be back to normal in a few days and everybody will have forgotten about it.

Amber warning out for rain down south. A quiet night for us in the NW by comparison.

A much better day than the last 3. Some brighter spells and bits of sunshine. Much cooler.

Tomorrow promises to be a sunny day. Make the most of it, not much sun forecast thereafter. Blitz that high to the south please!

No police or other emergency services around until later despite the carnage in Weatherfield. It has to be Corrie!

Longer, if we do nothing about it and pretend nothing is happening.  Other countries are getting on with their normal lives but not suffering this level of infection because they are taking mitigating steps against it.

I was down the Goyt last night trying to spot a few Orionid meteors, no such luck seeing any tonight but the showers that moved through between midnight and 4am were potent at times with squally winds and low-clouds whistling over the tops. Despite the weather there was the occasional clear-break that allowed the 'Hunters' full moon to light up the landscape like a torch.

Lamb for tea it is, nice one.

PCR was negative thank god, but the new super cold packs a bloody punch!

Waist deep, that's quite severe.  Glad your aunties house was unaffected, still very devastating for her community though.

Absolutely glorious today with plenty of sunshine and a lovely colder feel with fresh winds. Far better than the damp mild weather.

Spot on - basic, softer measures earlier, which hardly impinge on people's 'freedoms', prevents more severe longer lasting restrictions later on, but more importantly reduces the spread of the virus. Lessons never learnt or simply ignored...

it's hardly a hardship to have to wear a mask when going inside somewhere for a few minutes.

Her neighbours all live in park homes next to river in Ilminster… once the water gets into the floors they are uninhabitable and they couldn’t get insurance due to previous floods caused by council flood gates malfunctioning and the fields next door…
