Its not the best of days outside today with it feeling much cooler at 11.7c and moderate rain ongoing for the past 2 hours, but at least tomorrow looks to be the best day of the week for some long spells of sunshine.

... except it seems in our Region where there may be showers on a NW wind

Had quite a downpour just now, started a little stream flowing passed my back door, not seen that for a long while.  Rain now eased.  Thank goodness my dental appointment was 10am this morning when it was only spitting.  We need this though as a few of you have posted regards the regions reservoirs needing a good top up.

All 4 of our water butt's are brimmed after a few days!

Amazing what difference the new garage & its flat roof has made to catching water..

Alas, wrong time of the year typically, but least I know it'll do well for next year's watering of crops & the greenhouse ??

A small risk of snow on the northern/western edge of this low next weekend. GFS going for a dusting on the Peaks. Although it does over exaggerate snow chances this model.

An overcast day today and had some monsoon type rainfall during the afternoon. Tomorrow promises to be a drier day with sunshine for most.

Was watching hairy Bikers do the same last week. What ale are you using?

At last a day that felt autumnal! Very heavy pulses of rain at times, significant totals, chilly feeling temps around 10-11 degree mark. Bring on autumn! Just need the first frost now! and storm! - the latter this weekend, but may have to wait a while for the frost.

Good Irish sea streamer in operation right now. Roll on two months and we could have been in business with this.

If this is the 'best day' of the week (BBC), then I don't know what the next few days have got in store for us in the NW!

I think the forecast has deteriorated for today (for inland areas) as showers were supposed to be mainly coastal. A steady stream of showers feeding into the region in two separate bands.

Annoyingly so, the models had today completely dry for the NW from what i'd seen only a few days ago but it's more water for the reservoirs I suppose.

How many times do we see this; come winter and those synoptics disappear....and return in the spring...

Except the Wirral

Although I'm still liking the well below average SST's around here, carrying on from a few weeks back when I first noticed, long may it continue.

Squally hailstone shower here just now, hills not visible and lost signal for a few mins.  Convective blue skies out to my NE though. Oooh a bit of a taste of some cold stuff, getting exciting.

Another damp one with plenty of heavy showers and stormy looking clouds about today with some brilliant rainbows on the way home from work.

the last few days have reminded me more of April than September.
