Still on your way home then.  Been wondering today if you had got back to the good old NW safely.  Drawing out the remainder of your holiday with a tour of sainsbury, saves you having to shop tomorrow.

I know it'll change but not very often you see this for this area 9 hours of storms in work though.

Lol and there wasn't even 9 hours of showers.

Notice the lightning symbols for my area have disappeared for today.

BBC weather app says thunder from 16.00 through to 22.00 tonight.

I'll get the bbq out then.

It has’t took long for the early morning sun to disappear and the showers to get going.

Much drier than I thought first thing, managed to stay dry getting mum her shopping.  Starting to rain now as I type.

Miserable here although the rain is probably needed

Thunderstorm warnings for tomorrow as well. Has anyone actually heard any thunder so far given the warnings covered yesterday and today?

No not a peep! Some torrential downpours yesterday but nothing went bang. An incredible amount of water pouring off the hills though

Most of the lightning strikes have been out of the warning areas south and east the last few days

Not even a snifters here.  Been a bit dire for my neck of the region for significant electrical activity so far this year, it's coming up to a year ago since the fantastic night storm of 11th August, most memorable.  Been miserable and wet here this pm, looks to be brightening up a bit way out west.

Absolutely torrential here in prestatyn

Are you at Haven Gronant Sands, Prestatyn?  Does Rory the tiger still entertain the little ones?  Hope you are enjoying yourself despite the weather which looks like it's going to be awful a bit later,  according to the huge nasty wet mess west of you at the moment on the radar.

Heavy echoes are appearing on the radar but I think it is last chance saloon because that blob over north Wales looks like heading this way and I think that would be it.

Even the rain today has not been remarkable, the warning looks and more and more a bust.

Eh up, welcome home.  Can't wait to show my daughter the video you've posted, she fell in love with Rory.  She'll  be over the moon.  At nearly 23 years old she still talks fondly of her hols with Rory.

This Is the top of the cell NE of Stoke, it has since electrified from taking this pic.  Could still be in with a shouts in parts of the region.  The cell east of Crewe seems to be intensifying .

Radar is showing plenty of bright colours around my neck of the woods but what’s falling from the sky is hardly torrential.

still, it’s been a rotten day for a summer month.
