It’s been another dry and mainly sunny day in these parts but there were some stormy looking clouds and rumbles of thunder as I parked the car up at home.

still dry at the moment though.

Was warm and partly cloudy till early afternoon then clouded over. Just had a big clap of thunder then 10 seconds later the heavens opened... Had a few loud rumbles and had heavy rain for 10 minutes.

Despite a fair amount of sunshine. It is notably cool, current temp 16.6 degrees. After a chilly morning, dare I say a touch autumnal..

It was pleasantly warm here yesterday after the cold start (min of 5.3, 18c by midday and a max of 20.6c), was lovely here yesterday evening, still around 19c at 7 pm and felt very pleasant. Quite an impressive durinial range as well for Summer.

Lots of outdoor activities at present, people on holiday, peak summer weekend ahead and yes the prospects look very miserable indeed!

It’s August. It’s the school summer holidays. Why am I not surprised!

Pretty much a perfect summers day today, certainly not the oppressive of mid July but plenty warm enough and as good as it’s been since then.

shame it’s downhill after tomorrow and unless torrential rain with a threat of thunder is your thing, Friday is looking absolutely dire.

Personally I can’t wait

If it is heavy thundery showers/convective rainfall then I will accept it, but if it’s just boring frontal rain and overcast all day with no convection and low temps then it won’t be very good. I quite like convective rainfall in summer, even if it’s an unsettled period, it tends to fall all in one go, it can be a nice day like today then suddenly the heavens open and you get a torrential downpour for 10 minutes, then the sun comes back out again. I like that kind of unsettled. What I hate is when it’s just gloomy, damp and drizzly all day, that’s just depressing and miserable.

Northern England and southern Scotland are certainly looking wet on Friday so probably North Wales won’t escape without some rain.

it is the north though so the default setting is usually rain but TBH we’ve had drier weather up here than yourselves in the south have so far this summer.

Not had a drop of rain here since the bit of drizzle on 31st July.  Is there any prospect of a share in the showers tonight or have I to go out watering veggies again.

Been hot an sunny here this week -- grand camping weather.

Nothing particularly very warm or hot on the horizon, which quite frankly I'm not too fussed about anyway. It can stay where it belongs in Spain. Pleasantly warm is enough like the last couple of days. And anyway we're slowly edging towards the time of year when proper hot weather is less likely to occur after mid August onwards as the seasonal average temp begins it's descent towards Autumn.

Forecast for today was for 3-4 hours of persistent rain we had a rain shower lasting about 3 minutes might have been the case of the classic rain shadow we often see scupper a snow event in winter.

Still sunny and pleasant here. I'm at Hopton near Potters resort where they do the indoor bowls.

View is looking North to Gorleston.

Well the caravan is certainly being rocked here in prestatyn by the wind. Agreed one shower of heavy rain is all we have had blowing against the window. Aerial skyline could be interesting in the morning

Its odd how the forecast has been so-wrong for two days in a row. What should have been a 'dry-sunny' day yesterday ended up in the Peak District having localized flooding along with intermittent thunderstorms, and what should have been a 'overcast-washout' day today has ended up being one of the sunniest this week.
