Bit of rain and a bit of thunder here but nothing much. As mentioned above, the remarkable thing about today is the temperature. 12.1c here at 3.45 on a late July afternoon is shocking. Around 18c lower than this time last week.

Like a conveyor belt now looking at the radar and frequent loud thunder. Going to remember this day for a while. Safe to say the thunder drought round here is over this year!

Yes we weren't doing to good there for awhile as all the storm cells over the last few days appeared to part the waves when it reached our parts, but had a few humdingers out at work today.  One of the loudest thunderclaps I've ever heard approx 1:30pm Manchester Rd/Frederick St junction.  Heavy spells of rain on and off too.  The winds are more westerly...say no more!

Many a warmer afternoon in November.

Suns out now, hopefully this might trigger some more storms. If not then never mind. I actually prefer night time storms and the lightning display they bring but alas today has still been a very good a solid 9/10.

Heard the loudest crack of thunder ever in my life, scared the lenticulars out of me.  Someone screamed outside.  This is the cell it came from along with a 3 bright silver CGs.  About an hour ago.

Thunder and lightning again here with several deep rolls of thunder over the past 20 minutes or so. A monsoon has set in here now! It has been a very active day thunder wise, much better than I anticipated.

I thought we were all done for the day before this storm that's just gone through. Atmosphere clearly still primed.

Don't think we'll get much thunder now but the rain showers should continue for awhile yet.  One of the best Thunder and Lightning days for some time in my local vicinity.  Funny how the best action was after two days of cool-down weather and not hot on the heels of a 30+c day!

Rained on and off during the night, temp 11° at the moment, such a stark difference to this time last week.  Quite foggy/misty on the tops, over the cat and fiddle road.

Unfortunately for mid summer it doesn't get much more grim than this morning's weather. Low cloud, persistent heavy drizzle or light rain, moderate cool breeze and 11c. Not out of place in late autumn or early spring.

I watched BBC forecast at fridays small low and it was a southern affair barely getting north of Bristol, this morning they have it 100 miles further north with the northern front giving rain in the north west...bet it lingers into the afternoon aswell..

First day of Chorley Flower Show tomorrow: it's bound to linger.
