Thought today would be the hottest of this spell.. but alas we are stuck on 27.5 degrees. Can only think it's due to the shift in wind direction.. we are not that far away from the N Sea.. southern parts of the region are more sheltered in a light easterly flow.

Remainder of the week turning cooler more so by Saturday but only back to near average, low 20s. More cloud about, we may escape any rain here until the new week..

Just about scraped 30c here so my hottest day of the year and certainly not bad for this altitude.

dropping back slightly now so providing the threatening looking clouds don’t dump anything wet, it’s time for a couple of hours sat outside and a beer or three.

Something's afoot, we just had a sort of rainless squall. After being mostly calm all day, the wind really picked up for a few seconds, very refreshing!

Just heard the first rumbles of thunder from a small storm currently over the Burnley area so it will be interesting to see if it follows the same route as the one last night which ended up heading down the valley to our west.

Just had our first rumble and the radar shows a storm incoming but it did this last night and it vanished giving us 5 minutes of spotty rain

Yeah at the moment it’s looking pretty much like a carbon copy of last night apart from being about 20 minutes earlier.

Aye it looks like it’s heading south but to my west again so maybe Ramsbottom, Bury, Lower Irwell Valley folk need to finish their BBQ pretty sharpish.

If I had the energy driving up Ripponden Rd to Junct 22 of the M60 could be interesting for the small storm....just heard a rumble of thunder in the distance but it will probably avoid OL8

'Cause tonight for the first time (first time)
Just about half-past ten (half past ten)
