What a super day.  Daughter and I jumped in the car at midday and drove to Rhyl.  Highest temp reading in the car was 29° at Mold, otherwise it was a steady 27°.  Beautiful on the coast, nice breeze and not that busy.  Had a refreshing paddle in the sea, lots of jellyfish around. Got back just after 7pm, I love the sea.

Spent the weekend at St Annes and did the same.

just felt like being abroad, both the heat of the days and how warm the sea felt although a paddle was as far as we got.

TBH it’s a long walk to the sea for a paddle at St Annes.

Reached 29c here again today. Indoor temperature also hotting up so nights will be uncomfortable. Thinking 31c could be reached in the next couple of days in the south of the region - Wednesday or Thursday maybe? ☀️

Even further at Ainsdale!

Think we maxed at 25 degrees mainly due to the cloud cover midday. It felt more pleasant than yesterday. Current temp a sultry 20.8 degrees, though humidity levels are not too bad, far prefer high pressure warmth than those humid southerly plumes.

Another very uncomfortable night for sleeping, and a few more similar nights to come yet. Some more hot days in prospect this week, with temperatures certainly way  above my comfort zone for doing anything away from the sea/pool outside during the middle of the day. Glorious summer weather nonetheless. Hopefully we can get a decent thundery breakdown at the end of the week.

Its like waking up on your holiday in the Mediterranean beautiful blue skies and warm sunshine at 8am makes you feel good

Enjoy your day and get the sun screen on

On a brigther note, unpacked my USB fan from Amazon Prime last night, is way too noisy too use when sleeping (despite being marketed as a "quiet fan" lol) but when you're sat in front by jingles does it cool you down! On the highest (and noisest) setting it feels like being at the seaside with a fresh breeze blowing at you. Ahhhhhhhh heaven.

Currently sat at the laptop shirtless with the fan on the lowest setting and I'm feeling nice and cool, despite being 25C indoors.

Bit cooler today as well, currently 24C, 65% humdiity, with plenty of cloud around. Forecast to get hotter again on Tuesday and Wednesday though.

This is a very warm spell, but it's not exceptional. High pressure overhead in the peak of summer should be delivering such warmth. Whilst uncomfortable it is to be expected.

It certainly is! I was last there in August 2016, lovely day, warm but not too hot with temp in low 20's, took about half an hour to walk from the prom to the sea, and half an hours walk back again...

The tide must come in really fast there. Wouldn't want to get caught out.

More clouds have bubbled up today compared to the last couple of days. Some nice looking cumulus clouds of the cauliflower variety have developed.

Looks like our old friend Liverpool Airport weather station has been on the pints today

Seems to be consistently six to seven degrees warmer than Hawarden,Crosby and Rostherne/Manchester Airport ?‍♂️

Some convective clouds bubbling up but they won't develop into anything and looking at the satellite there's clear skies to follow in the next hour so no chance of any thunderstorms today.

I’ve been to St Annes many time in the past and I can’t ever remember seeing a high tide, it’s always seemed as far out as you can see.

It must do though, certainly further down towards Lytham otherwise they’ve spent a lot of money on a new sea wall and promenade for little gain.

as for the tide coming in fast, go to Arnside, that is impressive.

Another hot one here in S Cheshire today more humid however with some cloud cover early this afternoon reaching a hot & humid 28c. Midweek still looks to be the peak of the heat 30/31c potential is there for Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside Wednesday/ Thursday. 26-28c quite widely elsewhere. Quite a notable heatwave by NW standards but not exceptional or as prolonged as recent hot summers.

At the moment it looks like we will be a tad too far N to see any thundery weather. Could do with that troughing edging in further N

Maybe it's just because the last few summers (barring 2018) have been pretty poor in our region.

I have headed across the Pennines again and I am finding the North Sea coast much more bearable than at home, with a cooling breeze keeping things relatively comfortable. Doors are still open and the flip side is that our lounge is now filled with rustic smells from a neighbouring farm. You can't win!

You mean that true country air smell.

If anyone remembers Woodhouses pig farm near Failsworth, that was a rustic smell of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
