If only I'd not had a zoom meeting this morning, I might have got the grass cut. It started to pour down as I got the mower to the back lawn at 11.30am and has been showering down off-and-on ever since. Exercise over for the day I believe!

I  managed to get one lawn cut late yesterday afternoon. A nice morning this morning but I have to agree with Ramp that people may be caught out this afternoon.

Overnight low of 6.9c. A lot better than recent nights. Snow still visible on Blencathra and Great Dodd. Sunny blue skies to start. Now clouding over but still good sunny spells. Warm in the sunshine although still breezy. Swallows very busy and lambs very noisy. Beautiful.

Pretty impressive thunderstorm with frequent lightning and deep rolling thunder as well as several spells of fairly large hail just went overhead here on the Wirral. Lots of surface water now. Assume it's headed for Liverpool.

Thunder storm rolled in from Liverpool Bay and had hits around Crosby, also north in Formby. Had one fairly close to Ince Blundell.

Yes, you would be getting clobbered and I wouldn't!

I'd swap you a storm for snow any day.

Liking the look of the storm to the east of Stoke but will it be an endurance athlete like Mo Farah and survive it's journey north? A lot of lightning with this one too.

What's the betting it will just amount to a brief burst of heavy rain by the time it reaches our parts...but the conditions are favourable according to Net Weather's Tstorm forecast for it to keep most of it's volatility as it tracks north.  Hope so.  I've finished work now and got a ringside seat of comfortability.

Rain has arrived but no thunder atm  I do wonder though if we're going to get more days of thunder now with climate change. Last summer was great for thunderstorms despite it being a poor summer overall for sun and sustained warmth and we are already off to an early start this year across the region.

Looking dark to my south and it’s heading pretty much due north but nothing reached here yet.
