Thankfully a dry mainly sunny day here but still cold after this mornings impressive ice show.

If it was early March then decent conditions, just a shame it’s early May.

Abundant sunshine all day, yet temp struggled to make it much above 10 degrees. May see a few wintry showers through the night, and another frost.

Collected 14.1mm at 10BST this morning.  So that 2 day nasty little low pressure gave us 41.6 mm.  All forgiven today.  We've been very lucky and had a dry sunny day with marvellous visibility.  Cold breeze, but it dried the washing nicely. Max 10.6 C.

Did we miss Summer entirely ? It feels like winter is back again, the sun was lovely and warm today but the wind was blisteringly cold, was odd to look out towards Blackpool and see the mountains in the distance covered in snow. Feel sorry for all the wilding babies having to suffer these cold nights but I guess they're equipped to survive late cold snaps ?

A couple more chilly days to come then it does look like turning milder. Better than this demented cold air that our country seems to have been a magnet for. However it loses the battle soon. About time too as I'd like to leave the heating off now until at least late September.

I suspect it may not be the last cool airflow we see this spring/summer.

Latest EC seasonal has a strong signal for HP out to our west over summer.

A couple of screen shots from web cams this morning.  I can see snow on the hills, but the light is bright and the snow does not really show up on my own photo.  Yes it is May, winter is extended, doubt summer will be, I can't see myself sunbathing in November.

May 6th and we’ve got a covering of snow on the ground

Certainly not the latest date it has happened but the latest for a long while.

Same here something wintry has fallen.

On the plus side temperatures up to 16c on Sunday making the rain feel a little warmer

Waking up to white hills this morning was certainly unexpected! Lovey to see from a weather enthusiasts point of few, but do hope it’s the last of it now

Whilst I like cold weather, I would prefer it mid November to mid March. It would be quite nice to have a bit of warmth without cold northerly winds. Early May, and I haven't cycled in summer clothes yet - still in the autumn/winter clothing.

As others have already said, quite a surprise to get an overnight covering of snow... in May!!! and we are still getting hail with the rain.

That is all well and nice but let's have that warm sunshine back please, the plants have had their fill of rain thanks!

This is utterly, utterly, UTTERLY ridiculous now. 4.5C at 2pm in MAY!! I’ve never been more angry/depressed at the weather in May than I have been since it began.
