Manchester Airport TAF indicating a possibility of the showers turning more wintry later.

Just under 7 weeks until the summer solstice and its -1.1C. Ice on the cars, 19th air frost since the start of April

It has been an exceptional spell of weather really. Doesn’t feel like we’re 4 weeks from the start of summer. It feels like time has kind of stood still. Bizarre.

2° at the moment and foggy, dull and grey.  Doesn't feel as cold now the wind has dropped, I'm still needing the heating on though while I'm getting ready for work.  Still in my winter coat walking to work, however when we have had the sunny days, it's carried home late afternoon, don't think I'll be carrying it home today though.

Also SSTs must be lagging behind somewhat now. Could be well into summer before they pick up. Any onshore breezes are going to feel parky.

Snowline about 500 metres, and quits a bit of snow as well. An air frost this morning, another wintry start to the day. Thankfully today is forecast sunny and dry, temps though only just nudging double figures, a clear indicator of how cold uppers are.

Quite a serious fall it seems very noteworthy indeed for early May.

It feels like January 4th not May 4th. It is bleak indeed, fells have a decent cover. Nothing particularly warm on the horizon, any dry sunny weather coincides with cold uppers meaning frost at night, more near average temps coincide with wind and rain. Are we looking at a May 96!

If we are I hope June follows the 96 theme.

Had a lovely walk early this morning - breezy and sunny. Since then we’ve had thunder, sleet, hail and more thunder

Just had a heavy shower, blue skies at moment, lovely huge cauliflower topped cumulus rearing up behind one of the towns landmarks.

100% snow falling earlier on during a heavy shower that passed through this afternoon at around half 1pm, I couldn't hear any thunder whilst out and about on a short walk around Furness Vale when the sun was out but sferics indicate there was a few strikes around the same time nearby in Cheshire.
