No higher than 7C here today. Bloody terrible for May. And with that blustery wind it's felt colder than that.

Yeah the milder conditions will be back around November and last until March before it turns colder again

Shocker of a day, max temp 9 degrees, rain on and off. Snow above 600m, and stuck all day. Another winter's evening, currently 5.1 degrees and heavy rain, followed by an air frost. Woeful for early May.

Snail (Snow & Hail) now settled here on the ground as the heavier showers begin to move through and temp drops, the latest spring 'snow' I can recall from memory and to think only a few days ago it was shorts and t-shirt kind of weather with wildfires raging in the Peaks.

Bizarre to see Ice laying on the City pitch from a hailstorm a couple of hours ago...in May. Such a strange spell of weather this past 5 weeks.

I had thought it was snow, but knowing it was actually hail, that could happen in the middle of Summer as well. I've seen hail settle readily in the middle of July.

Yeah, difference is, it often melts away within 5 minutes...not lay around as if it was January.

I'm at our country pad (caravan) next to the North Sea in N Yorkshire. Now that is cold!

A smattering of ice has settled on favourable surfaces - grass etc. Just gone to double check the calendar lol!

It feels like January 4th not May 4th. It is bleak indeed, fells have a decent cover. Nothing particularly warm on the horizon, any dry sunny weather coincides with cold uppers meaning frost at night, more near average temps coincide with wind and rain. Are we looking at a May 96!

A real big shelf cloud across Crewe, so dark and threatening. Some hail but nothing spectacular, expected a few flashes.

Depends on how much fell. There was still hail on the ground in small drifts the next morning , hours after the supercell struck last June here.
