You best get a plumber out, doesn't sound great that.

Usually appear on here November onwards for chart discussion and festive upland winteriness chat. But April and today in particular has been bloody Baltic

Heating back on the last couple of days. And people back in winter coats out and about lol. What a vile period of weather. Be nice to get some proper warmth soon. Not hot but just nice enough to sit outside in shorts and t shirt in both the sun and shade without shivering.

A cold day, brrr, an air frost expected tonight. One or two glancing showers - even though the radar showed lots of green above it, the showers were very shortlived and not very potent.

Tomorrow will be a carbon copy, ending what will go down as locally our coldest April probably since 1986.

Another cold day for the time of year. Just the odd isolated shower this afternoon, temps barely making double figures. Another cold night ahead to greet May.

Not the best May Day bank holiday in prospect, but not a write off. Temperatures most disappointing aspect, significantly below average. Sat and Sunday look very similiar plenty of dry weather, but threat of shower or two in the afternoon. Monday currently looking very wet locally, suspect many visitors to the Lakes will be packing there bags early Monday...

Nice and warm in the sun but cool air and heavy showers in the mix, just caught some hail now.

Didn't get a shower yesterday as they came from the north east and couldn't handle the trip over higher ground, although they did blossom again on lower ground west of the M60...but today there is a slightly westerly drift so ain't going to be dodging them today.  Hail in the last one.

Missed the showers so far but certainly haven’t missed the cloud.

plenty of that about and hardly any sun but could be worse.

A poor week to come. Not looking like getting above 8 or 9C between Monday and Wednesday when the average at this time of year is about 15 or 16C. So the prospect of being a good 7C below normal.

No showers so far, just rather cloudy dull skies, no sunshine and cold. Very hum drum... fingers crossed the next and the best in my opinion bank holiday weekend is warmer and sunnier..

Rinse and repeat these days at the moment. Glorious, chilly starts, followed by cloud rapidly bubbling up with slow moving showers by the afternoon for many. We had a heavy prolonged shower of rain and hail at around 11:30 this morning, but have managed to dodge most this afternoon.

I've been helping out on a Edale Skyline Walk today and wasn't too surprised to see small hail and even a bit of snow in the showers, quite a temperature variation and when the sun did occasionally break through the clouds it was very nearly t-shirt kind of weather despite the max temperature today only being around 9.5'c.

The difference in just 40 minutes..

April just gone was the sunniest April on record for the region beating last year's record, over 110 hours more sunshine than last July.

Is it more than just coincidence we've experienced sunniest back to back April's on record whilst there has been limited air pollution from planes? Mmmmm....

Just got back from a walk and it feels more like early February than early May outside.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
