We got up to the dizzy heights of 5.3C here. Not sure what the average is for April, something like 15C? Had more cloud filtering in compared to yesterday so it felt chilly whilst sat on a bench in Oldham town centre. Not my home I might add although I feel for any poor homeless bugger out in the cold last night.

-4c last night here... popped to Mossley to look at progress of renovation of one of our btl... not too bad in sunshine ☀️ Took a jaunt to meltham (on way home) and pop into Morrison’s and pop back via Holme  moss... still snow remnants in shade... took all the pot plants into garage Saturday so no frost damage thankfully

Much milder evening than yesterday's, thanks to cloud cover. Tomorrow looking a damp drab affair, temps probably not quite making double digits, so not very enthused by it. By Friday back to the arctic cold.

It was nice to see a local football match being played this evening on the local recreational ground - finally some life about!

This will likely be the coldest April for more than 20 years.

Think u mean 1989 with a CET of 6.6. It is possible to get a figure similar to that this month. Just depends if we get a warm up in the second half

Any further snow chances this week/weekend?

GFS and ECM say yes however the forecast on Breakfast shows a front from the SE spreading NW but as usual the northern extent uncertain before the front heads back SE giving some wintryness in southern counties certainly going to be another cold weekend not quite as cold as beginning of the week so any snow perhaps reserved for higher ground.

Maybe something a touch milder later next week? I'm an ardent coldie but some warmth wouldn't go a miss now to warm the house up naturally. Don't really want to keep putting the heating on for much longer.

Really wish we would get some proper rain now. Arsonists are out setting hill fires.

Yes 2018 was terrible for them. Hope we don't get a very dry summer like that. Alternating warm and wet periods are ideal growing conditions, so a good dose of everything needed. I don't think most in here want a complete washout either especially if we still can't travel abroad.

Yes that would be perfect. Just enough rain and warm to help everything green up quickly.

Warm in the sunshine, chilly when clouds over... only 8c but had lovely walk around manor park to feed the ducks, bought some cod and salmon from fishmonger at Glossop Market square... Happy Friday

Looks like a snow chance later tomorrow.

In little ol' Crewe, wow! Heavy shower at lunchtime but otherwise dry and reasonably mild if not sunny since about 10am. I could see blue skies to the north and south (!) but never really made it here to Crewe.

Clear skies, arctic polar air, light winds, a recipe for a cold night! Indeed we are forecast to drop to -5 degrees, a notable low for April. Indeed many a winter we've struggled to hit such lows.

Temp dropping like a stone right now, currently 5 degrees, but expect to see a couple of degrees shaved off that in the next hour, and below freezing by about 11pm.. tomorrow looking a cold one again.
