If anyone is fortunate enough to get a proper heavy snow shower just before or after sunset, any snowcover should stick around around.

Seeing the convection today, its a big pity this northerly did not hit proper full on.

Just had some heavy snow on a strong wind, stuck for a while but now gone. Temperature dropped to freezing, now at 3.3*C. Very wintery day.

Hail and snow showers here on and off for the last hour. Hadn't expected even a shower out of this so a bit of a surprise. Must be more of a n/nw rather than the usual straight northerly.

A bit more a beefy one moved through about 30 mins ago which left a dusting on the car but nothing else. Think any proper accumulation will have to occur at night. No doubt the showers will die out by then

Too far west for the line of instability here. Grey, breezy and cold but no snow action.

Nice snow shower now, the wind has picked up, squally and will be short lived.

The fact that snow fell in the middle of the day and it’s 2c at 4pm in April is astonishing. Something you’d expect on the Scottish mountains, not here

Squally hail shower passing through here at present. Surprised as not much showing on the radar near here.

Sun-Snow-Sun-Snow and repeat all afternoon  its one of those days where every season wants to throw a little something in, even a strike of lightning being registered near Sheffield not long ago.
