Hard to believe I was sweltering under the sun last week with 20c highs and it's currently snowing with a cm accumulated. In April...

Skittering of snow here. Otherwise blue skies. Awoke at 5.45 to some light snow falling but went back to bed.

Let's see if any convection kicks off..

Under dark pink hues on the radar but have sunshine and cloud.  Pleasant morning temps 5°C, light but cold wind.  Wind picked up from about 10:30 last night with some audible gusts, seems calmer for now.  No visible flurry of snow on the tops of surrounding hills, few more cars than normal probably out on a snow hunt.

Got a light dusting from about 7am but the sun has creamed off the small cm that dared to sit on top of the fence panels and it's a tragic sight to witness in April.  Roll on warmer times to come.

Two things in evidence this morning:

-Depth of cold uppers and dewpoints. Currently sat at 0.8 degrees, under blue skies and sunshine. Indicative the air is very cold.

-Strength of sunshine. The light snow cover has disappeared where exposed to the sun. The fells also stripped clean.

Was snowing in Liverpool a few minutes ago but looks like the shower has passed to my west. Nothing here yet.

Just a few very thin patches of snow lingering in shade.  N sides of fells are still white.

Had a light covering here. But this has mostly melted now even in the shade. Nice to see so late in the year

Tomorrow late afternoon eve looks like the region's best chance for snow showers.

Woke to a light covering of snow here. Didn't last long though, just traces of it left out of the sun now.

After a dusting of early morning snow it’s turned into a lovely sunny although bitter cold day.

just back from a brisk walk and, as is usually the case with northerly’s, the air was crystal clear and the views exceptional.

Yes one good thing about a northerly is it's probably the cleanest feeling, looking, smelling, breathing air you can get in your lungs.  No pollution this morning that's for sure.

This morning's dusting has gone, not melted, just gone.

Beautifully sunny now, and with the dp at -12 and a strong breeze, I hung the washing out, it should dry nicely.

A beautiful day today though very cold. Just 4c at 1pm under clear blue skies. Shows how cold the atmosphere really is. Kinda amusing how this cold spell is better than anything we got in Winter 2019/20

Just got back from a walk it's a beautiful day - I love arctic air masses it's so clear. The wind is obviously really cold but it's pretty gentle here and as soon as you're out of it the April sunshine makes it feel a lot warmer than it is. It's been a lovely Easter weekend of weather in this part of the region.
