Just had a brief hail shower, back now to sunshine and blustery showers.  Lights still flickering occasionally and I seem to have acquired part of a neighbour's shed roof. I can see where its from, so I'll pop it in their garden later.

A few hail showers have blown through here on a strong westerly breeze temperatures not to bad at 9c but feeling cooler in that wind.

Certainly a wild and windy night last night with rain lashing against the window at times and a real contrast to the weather conditions over the past couple of weeks. We had a power outage this morning for a period of time which I understand was due to a power line having been brought down. A few squally showers today with hail mixed in.

Mostly dodged the showers today, some pretty lengthy sunny spells.  Keen wind which was at it's strongest in the early hours.  Radar pepping up out to the west, so I'm guessing the sunshine and showers ratio will favour the latter later on.

Not posted here in a while as been quite a boring few weeks weather wise.. getting slightly more interesting past few days , rain and wind last night was relentless here, Showing 80% snow (heavy) for early hours tomorrow image.thumb.png.f0d6960d762973461afe839a203ad747.png Although somehow I can't see it happening.  Hoping for some more spring like weather now after this spell if nothing else, last week was a nice taster .

Certainly a exciting night here with Buxton recording a peak gust of 61mph at dawn, having a western facing window meant I got little sleep with all the noise going on outside. Now the gales have died down a little the next excitement of the day is hearing the first clap of thunder coming from the New Mills/Hayfield direction with heavy hail-showers now beginning to move through.

Certainly was a wild night and my bins got blown over. That's when you know it's blown a gale

Well, I'm a bit jealous, day off work today and I've been anticipating hearing my first rumble of the year, alas not happened yet.  Went quite dark about 30 mins ago, but bright again now.  There's been some impressive cloudscapes today, been a good day for cloud watching.

Potent looking little cell between Glossop and Whaley B.  Skies are black far to my NE.  Noticed a line of convective clouds heading that way too, before it clouded over becoming grey and dark again.

I assume the cow is practicing jumping over the moon.

Did the little dog laugh to see such fun?

Did the dish run away with the spoon?

Winter returning to the fells, smattering if snow above 700m this afternoon. Expecting more appreciable snow over next couple of days, decent cover above about 600m, with temporary cover down to 400m. The last 4 weeks have brought little snow, compared to previous 6 or so.

I was caught out twice in a massive hail storm in Huddersfield, then went to Dewsbury on the train, and only 8 miles away, there was no sign of hail and it was bright and clear. I thought that was weird

First day back on the school run and how I haven't missed the heavy rain.

I got well and truly soaked.

A view from Taylor St in Hollingworth.  I think your house is there as a pixel.
