this is the best snow we’ve had all week. Radar looks like it won’t be giving us much more but so nice to have this dusting.

Moderate snow here with small flakes swirling around in the wind. I'm surprised how far East and intact this front has made it.

The front seems to be fizzling out as it moves east.

Best snowfall since 2018!

Nice while it fell, managed a walk in it.

I really am signing off now, hopefully we'll all be back toward months end. Next week looks boiling compared to now. Enjoy!

The depth and strength of this cold is something else. That’s a huge Atlantic front that was full of energy. It’s come up against the dry continental air and it’s just destroyed it. Absolutely murdered it. Look at it. Every frame on the radar it dies even more. So impressive.

Not expecting much here, snizzle at best - been out in it today and that wind cut right through you no matter how many layers you had on...still currently -2c but temps will rise from here on....it may never get as low as this again until next winter.  Mental note: 13.02.21 sub zero day.

Snizzle.

But this time it's from the West.

And it's horizontal.

The band is weakening rapidly. The updated metoffice forecast below is interesting, sounds like there is a risk of snow from the second, more progressive front?

This Evening and Tonight:

A cold and murky evening. Winds remain strong, with coastal gales. Isolated showers of snow, rain, and sleet move in, giving a risk of ice patches as well as a frost. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Sunday:

Cloudy with frequent bouts of rain, freezing rain, and occasional sleet and snow, heavy at times, creating icy stretches. Winds remain strong with gales in exposed areas. Turning milder later. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Snows just kicked in here

Mix of big flakes but it's so windy it'll not get chance to settle

Still light snow, not leaving a trace. Going to feel so different out by Monday: 12c will feel a lot warmer especially with higher humidity. Gonna miss the sunshine of this week though.

Yeah was thinking that myself for tomorrow because this cold block is going to be hard to shift. Evidence of this with the current band going up against the Berlin wall. Like the irresistible force meets the immovable object. East meets west right over our region at the moment.

Yes - note the statement 'turning milder later' for tomorrow, so the milder air taking some time to move across. Not expecting anything, but could be an interesting day.

Its a good job that there’s next to nothing in the front anyway as I’m even in a shadow from a westerly and yet it’s managing to join up again as it reaches Yorkshire.

seems a familiar issue this winter though no matter which direction the weather has being coming from.
