Moderate snow burst came through. Maybe cheshire hills catch something? Fine dusting like caster sugar. Very dry cutting air though

photos of ground pre-snow... water ice crystals has caused the earth to rise a good 3-4 inches higher in my fields. Bad drought problems affecting my overwintering spring onion crop which you can see half dead in first picture

Teeny weeny flakes but lots of them. Nothing sticking - just blowing around in this wind.

Nothing here yet. Turning off the football in disgust anyway so will have a look out for the first flakes. *Throws radio out the window-*

Shame it's so windy. As soon  as it settles it's being blown away

Still plenty small flakes here plus a short burst of ice pellets hitting the conservatory roof.

If the snow makes it this far  east , and presuming it isn’t just virga , will be interesting to see how much of a shadow effect there is today. There is a fairly strong SE’ly wind.

Good to see snow in Liverpool, about time.

The grey cloud screen has come right over now. Looks very black further west.  Precip surely at the Lancs coast and coming inland,   Just had grocery delivery as bitter wind howled past the van doors.  Driver wondered how we coped up here.  I said we had to sew ourselves into our clothes at the start of winter.

Recommended he get back down below to Walton le Dale before the freezing rain or snow started.

Oi... Don't say that

Maybe as the wind is more SSE to S, it wouldn't be as strong an effect

Not a good sign if there are ice pellets reports already. means must be close to freezing aloft.
