Managed to get a photo of the boys in the snow. Not as much snow as I'd hoped for but pretty non the less.

Yep! He's a pyscho! Such a great breed of dog though, it's hard staying sad with snoop around.

@Weather-history how is the Manchester index doing?

“days with snow falling” must be way above average by now surely?

Up to 115

Including today, 21 days with falling sleet/snow

It’s been a bit Feb 2012 esque this cold spell - a bitter cold & snowy continent , some snow in Scotland the E & SE ❄️⛄️, a diluted down BFTE but some very cold overnight minimum temperatures  and hopefully some frontal snow to end the spell just like then. Can’t remember exactly but I’m sure I got at least 5-8cm from a frontal early Feb snow event that year. I think many of us would trade it staying cold and dry the rest of Feb with one half decent widespread snow event like that year even if we ended up turning mild the rest of winter. The block however seems to be holding firmer than expected as late as early- mid next week on the latest GFS but the signal for some form of battleground snow event remains.  Oh and let’s hope we don’t get a summer like 2012 for our staycation’s sake! ☔️

We're forecast here 'clear skies with a gentle breeze'...

It's currently -3ºC, cloudy and snow has just started falling

Same. We actually have the lightest of light snow falling here.

I love a walk on the low. Last week we walked from the quarry car park down through godley stud farm and up to hattersley and then back round to the low via mottram road. Climbing up the low from the dirt track on Apple lane was a killer.

Edit. Sorry I quoted the wrong post. Was meant to quote robbo88

Looks like a last snow shower is not out of the question yet. Things look like they are developing on the east side of the Pennines.

Living where we live we should be very happy with this winter. I wouldn’t say it has been a “classic” but it has been cold and I’ve lost count of the number of days it has snowed. Numerous little coverings. Many at 4-5cm and Storm Christoph (or should it be storm Chris) slightly more.

Before anyone jumps at me I’m talking about south Manchester. I also have low expectations and easily pleased which for snow round here is the best way to be, trust me.

It we get a 10cm fall here before winter is out, and it lasts more than a few days, I’m calling this a classic winter for here.

A rather frustrating winter generally but a marked improvement on the previous two.

I’d also like to add the caveat that this winter isn’t over yet. I’m not going to get into an argument with the “snow is crap in March” brigade but the two best Snow events of the last 10 years have been in March in my area, so go figure!

Seen good snow events in March and in 2012 (April 4th) it caused quite a lot of problems including, bringing an 11Kv power line down.
