As the curtain draws on winter i've seen a lot worse, and much better

My perception is not much snow, but not that much rain, and more frosts than the last few years.

Well in the end didn't receive as much snow showers as I thought I might do today, just a few flakes dancing in the air every now and again.  Winds dropped so will be another cold one tonight.  Yep, it might be hoping for a snowy breakdown our only chance to get something more widespread for us 'westerners'

All I've got here is scattered flurries today. Not proper snow showers.

Last chance tommorow before winds turns more south-easterly.

The beefy 'Macclesfield' shower looks roughly on course for here. With temperatures now dropping and the sun going down, hopefully we can grab a dusting, but obviously this is reliant on the shower maintaing course and/or not fizzling out.

Check the netweather radar quite a few showers following possible streamer setting up here

I’ve been so so unlucky with the positioning of these showers. Missed most of them . This one just to my south looks quite pokey as well.

GFS 12Z to me looks like an upgrade for the weekend with various fronts pushing into cold air and remaining all as snow until gradually turning to rain through Monday from the west. No marginality until Monday there and some very cold air between surface and 925 mb with extremely low DP. That will do me.

Already below freezing here so let’s see if a shower can make it.

Hoping it does and that you can get something as well. Last chance saloon for something decent from this event.

That big shower over Sheffield looks good. Similar path to the Dexter one now.

They seem to build, die, then build again.

The showers to the north of Hull right now may be slightly better for South Manchester , if they stay active or intensify as they cross the peaks. Will be interesting if the dynamics are different tonight with a slightly lighter wind.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t bank on it though . Hopecasting. “You never know” “there may be some surprises”

This is an agonising wait. It looks like a direct hit, but I just have this dread it's going to veer course or fizzle lol!
