GFS06Z shows an impressive event over the weekend for Merseyside with 12 hours of heavy snow Saturday afternoon  turning to ice pellets then back to snow again into Sunday afternoon. Freezing rain rather than ice pellets on the highest ground.

Looks great but mentally preparing myself to see it bury Wales, the SW & the Midlands whilst we get a few flakes in the wind before milder air and rain easily pushes through in true NW style!  Saying that though I don’t think any breakdown is nailed on just yet but the potential for battleground snow is there. It’s just the hope that crushes you not that I personally can complain as locally it’s been the coldest Winter since 2017/18 and probably the snowiest too although no deeper than 7cm - notable is the big regional differences in snow across the NW this year something not seen in past cold winters that have delivered most with at least one good snowfall.

Heavy snow shower here atm. Really coming down. Very surprised as radar wasn't looking that promising but looks like it developed after moving over the peaks.

I see our snow event has now been pushed back from Thursday to Sunday so will presumably show up on next Tuesday by Thursday....

And be 250 mile south

Just had the first snow shower of the day. Looks like a heavy shower with dark skies over Woolton direction.

Well that was crap, literally a few flakes blowing around, looked a bit heavier on the radar.

Seems to be some sort of trough swinging down when I run the radar.

Sounds good to me Chris. We’ve had nothing much at all over the last couple of days. A rogue light flurry here and there. Here’s hoping the weekend delivers something for us here in North Merseyside

Heavy graupel shower and sun. Must be some good convection around if getting graupel.

Heavy graupel showers and on/off snow here... Midst of another fall currently; but no chance of settling at all as every time it falls; the wind picks up

Still 0ºC here also

North Wales is getting hammered. Is this a joke? They skirt around us and blow up over wales...
