We may have missed most of the showers overnight, but what a glorious winter morning to make up for it. Sun just coming up with a hard frost. Beautiful.

That was a nice chunky shower, we're up to an inch now. I’m satisfied as everything is nice and white at least.

Looks like Rochdale is going to get a direct hit shortly. Quite a heavy one this.

Yep definitely a chunky shower - interesting following it's path - obviously at it's most potent coming through the East coast - died down a bit passing south of Leeds and then a resurgence hitting Saddleworth.

Light to moderate here and giving a little covering.

Just woke to a couple of cm of super fluffy stuff. -2c.

I'm not totally sure but I get the feeling the wind switching more easterly is helping. Maybe the shorter land track to here?

Yeh, nice to see some white. The radar looks fairly promising too actually.

If the rest of those showers pep up the same as they’re crossing the Pennines and keep on this line we could be lucky.

Agreed . Maybe one an hour into Rochdale/Oldham or so if they continue to follow this route.

Feel for you living on the wirral. Must be one of the worst places in the uk for snow, other than maybe my hometown of Chester! I moved up to 200m in Saddleworth to up my odds of snow haha!

They looks better aligned, beefier and slower moving today. I'm hoping that's gonna do it for this area! Although Im already happy with the couple of fluffy cm I have.

Little sugar dusting this morning. Civilisation not quite collapsed despite this devastating assault from the beast 'blizzard Britain' good morning Britain is calling it. Scotland has done alright and a bit of Kent and Essex.

Thanks, it's tough going that's for sure. We'll be moving inland eventually, can't cope with how poor it's become especially the last 10 years. As a kid I remember my dad's pond freezing thick with ice nearly every year but not anymore. You are in a prime spot now, 1 extreme to the other .

No snow when I got to work in stockport town centre, compared to the covering at home near Denton

No more snow overnight. Just got the dusting from the shower at midnight. Very cold, -3.2°C.

Looks like no break down event which is a shame

A definite shame if so - this would have been the main event for most of the NW...
