Things can change but since the early hours showers hitting here have followed the A64 south of York to Leeds then almost the exact path of the M62. Showers here hit land around Filey. South Manchester showers probably south of Bridlington around Hornsea. Interesting to see what's brewing over that way currently and will they make it here with any intensity.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if it did manage to sleet. This is NW England, breaker of hearts and dreams.

has there been a change in wind direction?

Hopefully, it looks more easterly is setting in which is better for showers getting over.

Hi kev

Just back from a conference call the thinking from the team today is that for the rest of day times hours there will be occasional snow showers mixed with sunny intervals things get interesting late afternoon noon early evening overnight as snow showers become heavier and more frequent lasting into the first half of tomorrow  please don't take this as gospel its a forecast and not a guarantee last thing i want to do is upset people in here if it doesn’t happen i did ask them about the rain in the taf forecast and were as surprised as you latest indications are not showing any rain so possibly just a typo.

C.S

Thanks for that

Peak District/ East Cheshire/ South Manchester - keep an eye on some heavier snow showers moving through Sheffield could start the snow again if they hold their intensity. Hopefully things intensify further later this afternoon so we all can get in on the act. You have to take what you can get from an Easterly in the NW.
