Even if we end up will little snow, I would much rather have cold dry weather than mild damp/wet dross off the Atlantic. I'm sure there will be some surprises for some over the coming week, but let's leave judgement until the event is over and if it turns out as poor as you expected then by all means have a moan afterwards, but at least give it a chance first. I did find it amusing that a poster from Buxton seemed to be writing it off already earlier today, before it's even started. They'll probably end up buried by the end of this week.

That Meringue looks fantastic, can you turn the light on in the kitchen so we can see it in full glory.

The gap between the two main ppn areas is definitely beginning to fill in with developing showers over Yorkshire.

Look at those shower hitting eastern Scotland they look juicy

The Cairngorms will be buried. It's ironic because the Scottish ski resorts are having their best season for several years, but no one can go because of Covid.

For anyone in the area who is interested I have set up a Twitter account which automatically tweets real-time observations from my weather station every half hour. Only have humidity and other derived variables whenever it is below 74% because of a problem with the hygrometer. I have ordered a new one though so will have humidity readings all the time in a few days. I know I talked about this before but just posting again in case anyone missed it who is interested.

Drifting worsening on the Cat and Fiddle road

Tomorrow evening is going to be very very bad if anything over 15cm falls.

Probably get those that will try and attempt travel for photos

So typical.

Should be in Dunkeld now for the week, probably heading to Edradour distillery tomorrow or Tuesday and it's waning it down with snow there...

From FB 'High Peak Live' this afternoon..

Two in a Mitsubishi travelled over 140 miles from Luton and was stopped on the A537 Cat and fiddle today. The two car occupants said “They were travelling to take photos of the snow.”

The drought zone over Yorkshire looks to be filling in a lot now so maybe a bit of activity will manage to get over this side.
