Probably more chance of it dropping south though but we’re certainly due a change in fortune.

Aye, most likely - but currently changing quite a bit with each run on the UKV.. so hoping we get a good few showers out of it and we end up under a good spot.

i am not expecting anything more than dandruff fir a few hours yet. Doesn’t feel right yet. Think we need a few changes in the atmosphere yet but before things build up in the early hours.

Not much science but I’ve seen this a fair few times.

The showers are in that classic densely packed dandruff type feature atm. Saw that in 2018. Showers should pep up later/tomorrow will be interesting to see how lucky. A few days of radar watching ahead!

Just been up to the lower end of the Goyt this afternoon past Taxal and the freezing level with the snow-line is visually evident, relatively mild in the valleys but up on Taxal Edge where it's exposed the Easterly is bitterly cold to the point where any snow that's been blown onto fences is literally frozen on in the form of ice.

Yeah, hopefully in a couple of hours time or so, everything should settle, no matter how light it is.

I’ve just gone into my age old snow in the forecast plan and put my car on the road so I don’t have to dig it out at stupid o’clock in the morning.

well if that doesn’t put the kiss of death on any lingering overnight snow chances then nothing will.

As daft as it sounds it really smells like snow out there...

Just been to put the kitchen compost out to the main compost bin at the bottom of the garden and it's bloody cold.

1°C with a chilling wind too, random snow flakes casually falling...

Current conditions - North Sea looks like it will develop quite nicely.

The snizzle keeps surviving the long and perilous journey over continental northern England and the Pennines/Alps - I hope it does when there's more 'oomf' about them.

Look North - some more potency beginning to fall in in the North East - as far South as Durham, should keep sinking this afternoon/overnight.

Radar from about 15:30 is starting to show something developing above Norwich which might be the start of the good stuff that can travel over the hills.

Tomorrow does look far more active than today, hoping these bands can develop further.

That’s good! Arpege was quite good at 06z too, glad it has maintained the theme. That HARMONIE link that @Dkeane3 posted was decent.

Could be some surprises tomorrow.
