Monday evening

Edges further north into Tuesday.

Noted that this is an extreme solution @SP1986 but worth watching.

@Kasim Awan this solution would be better for our region.

When can we expect negative dew points in the region? Had snow at 11am but not much in the way of sleet etc since

Not long now, a few hours.

I think they’ll go negative this evening and then might not recover above freezing for a good number of days at this rate .

Supposed to have been raining for the past hour or so but nothing has fallen except a little bit at first.

You’d be absolutely buried by Friday morning if it verified. Drifting powdery snow with temps about -3C .

It wouldn't melt either as the freeze looks like getting stronger the week after!!! Boomtown.

But don't worry it'll be down in the SW by Thurs instead

A mix of heavy rain/ sleety rain and hail showers here in S Cheshire this afternoon after a dry morning. Snowing down the M6 in Stoke. Looking at the 12z charts we could well be on the cusp of a classic spell for cold ⛄️ at least  - maybe the highest number of ice days locally since Dec 2010. Early Dec 2010 initially looked v cold & dry but if memory serves me right we got a streamer develop around Hull with snow showers pushing westwards across the Pennines. Think locally we got about 5 cm from them here in Cheshire before the fun and games really kicked off mid month.

Surely one of these times we've got to hit the jackpot with a direct hit with no Southern correction - law of averages and all that.

It has been mostly dry here all day, at least only very light rain at times. Nothing enough to stop me getting my new raspberries planted in the garden. They were delivered Tuesday and I wanted to get them in before the ground froze. Job done, not time for a .

I hear your cries about a breakdown though, a fair worry to have but fear not.
