WRF 06Z still not really that interested in snow for low ground later; perhaps just about conducive for my location but not for anywhere further west. However if I look for Bacup at the current time it would suggest that it wouldn’t be conducive there either. It is however so perhaps we should just nowcast from now on.

If you want to look for something about Bacup, look on the Lancashire Telegraph website, sorry it won’t let me post the link.

the story about the illegal COVID lock in and the female entertainment.

Its no wonder they film Brassic here

I mean his location is  Bacup Lancashire, 1000ft up in the South Pennine

or 304m asl

Anyway turned to proper snow here at 180m asl - not sticking, not far from you, give it another hour on you'll probably join in the fun.

As can be seen from my automatic Tweet observations it is very fine and sunny here, no precipitation yet.

1000 feet up is like the Himalayas compared to here.  With a 3C drop in temperature per thousand ft increase in elevation, it makes a huge difference to snow prospects. If it weren't for work, I'd be moving to somewhere at that elevation, minimum.

As soon as it’s cold enough for snow for Chorley the band will move South, guaranteed.
